  1. #1 Question Hebrew/Arabic Subtitles
    kamelq Guest
    Is there any way that SMS can read and display subtitles in Hebrew or Arabic language ? The two languages are read from right to left .
    Reality pro can read those languages perfectly . What about SMS ?
    Thanks

    @kamelq: no, sorry. And I have no interest to implement it myself (though I will be really glad that someone with appropriate language knowledge will do that) ...

    I wanted to start a new topic but since this topic has the main idea i would ask the same question since now it is 5 months later, can MSN read Arabic subtitles?

    i tried to create fonts with mtk_creator but with no use?
    and copy them to SMS directory in the memory card!

    If i was wrong, how can I make SMS read the fonts that I made?

    Any other Advices?

    thanks

    @ALI: ...try to contact "rami1", as he (she), probably, did something for Hebrew subs. You can also make arabic font with mtk program and store that font on mc (you can choose it's name from the list of 4 names - please, refer README for details), but right-to-left character drawing is not implemented. I have no understanding of the Arabic fonts at all. If you still won't be able to achieve something then I can try to implment that, but I need following information:
    - .ini file for mtk program with your font;
    - description of how right-to-left character representation works (I mean, if, for example, we have a string '12345' in the "arabic" file, then in which order character are stored in the file?);
    - sample of the arabic subtitle file;

    I have tried to make mtk fonts but when i copied them to the SMS directory, SMS do not play niether with the arabic not english fonts (the font name was ascii or latin1) i do not know why. If u could please tell me please how do i run the fonts with SMS.
    About what u need for the arabic language:
    1- ini file for mtk: I found this one already in the new version (MtkFontCreator_0.6.5) i have uploaded the program, the arabic support (Windows Code Page 1256, Special Code page 1256, All CP1250..CP1258 Unicode Characters)
    2- about the description: i am sorry i did not understand what u mean!!
    3- I have uploaded an arabic font and a sample of arabic suptitle.

    For windows to be able to read and write arabic properly, u need to (install files for complex scripts and right-to-left language) as well as the arabic keyboard. Otherwise windows may not read the arabic letters or may read them from left to right.

    for the arabic language the letters are always connected to each other like in some english fonts.

    Please when u choose the fonts, do not forget to choose the arabic script.

    now the files...

    @ALI: "about the description: i am sorry i did not understand what u mean!!" - I meant following : suppose we have string "12345" in .srt file (suppose that these numbers are arabic letters), where '1' has absolute offset from the beginning of the file lower than offset of '5'. How these characters shall be displayed? "12345" right aligned or "54321" right aligned? Simply saying: should the string read from the file be reversed before display?

    i understand u know
    it is as u said the presentation is from right-to-left like 54321 and i have attached a picture for the arabic language how it looks like..

    I have tried to make arabic fonts and it worked but the problem is that the program show the letters but not words even though u can not read anything.

    I will attach the font i made for SMS and another font if u want to convet it as well as ini file for mtk

    Hi All , I Have an idea we all want to view the arabic subtitles with SMS i have another idea to pass this step :-
    im suggesting to support The SUB/IDX Subtitle Format its kind of BMP subtitles ripped from DVD With VOBSub or u can create ur own by converting SRT To SUB/IDX --- NOT (*.SUB) only

    i'll be very glad if u make it soon
