Here is a little demonstration: http://rapidshare.de/files/23727289/Argon.zip.html
Make sure that you have the Square 721 BT font installed (it's in the archive), otherwise it will load some ugly default font.

It's written with portability in mind. The only parts that need porting - OpenGL (just a couple of calls, to display a bitmap at a given location), JPEG stuff and some directory and XML parsing.

    Keys: directional buttons, A - confirm, S - cancel.
It looks for files in My Documents folders and drive D:.
    Video thumbnails aren't implemented.
For album thumbnails it looks for folder.jpg.
Radio categories load from the internet.
Games and weather menus are just some crap for demonstration purposes.

The idea is to port that to PS2 and add parts from SMS Player and MyPS2. So I'm looking for some support to help me port it to PS2. The main problem here is that my PS2 is still unmodded.
I'll make the sourcecode available shortly, just have to clear up some crap.

P.S. Sorry EEUG, but I had no time to mess with VUs, maybe after finishing this one.

@user112: ...I have no time these days for SMS, so you'll be on your own for a while . Btw., my PS2 is also unmodded (well, it's modded with Duo2 SE chip, but I don't use it at all)...

Try to put this dll http://rapidshare.de/files/23775526/msvcr80d.zip.html in the same directory, and tell me if that helps.

It isn't mine, that is Sony's GUI for PSP and PS3:

I have the slim one, so no homebrew without modding.

Try to put that file too - http://rapidshare.de/files/23818559/....manifest.html. Or install XP SP2. Or screw it. It's just a PSP/PS3 like GUI.

So, anyone is interested in porting it?

P.S. Btw, does it work for anybody?

It's not working here either. And I have XP SP2. (maybe it has to be in a specific folder like C:\ARGON to work?)
Why do you always use rapidshare?
If you attach the files to your posts it's a lot easier for everyone to download. And I guess easier to upload too.
