File copying –
Can SMS copy files from say, a samba share to the PS2 harddrive? If not I think this would be a great feature to add.
...yes, it can. Select the file/folder and press 'square' button. A popup will appear etc. File/folder will be copied to the last visited folder on internal HDD...
Thank EEUG, I thought it could but I couldn't find where it was mentioned.
Hmmm..... I just tried this and nothing happened. If I press the square button whilst browsing in the internal hard drive I get a popup, but it only gives me the option to delete the file/folder. Anywhere else, no popup box appears.
@vectis: ...what the hell? This can be only in the situation if you did not "activated" (="entered") any partition on the internal HDD. By the way, could you tell which media are you trying to use as source (I'm mostly using smb share to copy files from)...
I entered a folder on the internal HD that was created by 'myps2' program, this is where I store my mp3s, avi's etc. I have been copying them over from a samba share using 'myps2', but its a bit buggy and doesn't always work.
SMS can read files from the internal HD and from the samba share without problems.
The samba share is by the way, where I am trying to copy from using SMS.
@vectis: ...well, you can't copy the whole share by SMS. Only stuff that is inside the actual share (i.e. files and folders)...
Errrm..... I'm not trying to copy the whole samba share, only some files from within it.
I've just tried it again and its now working!. I guess I must of missed something (though there's not much to miss).
