External USB drive files not being recognized
External USB drive files not being recognized –
I have an external USB HD that I formatted to FAT32. I did a test run with one file on the drive running on SMS v1.7 rev 2 and it worked fine.
Now I am trying to setup SMS on another PS2, but now i have SMS v1.7 rev 4. The USB drive is being recognized, but the files do not show up at all. I checked and the internal HDD works, it runs HDLoader fine. I hooked up the external HD to a PC and all the files are still there. Does anyone know why the PS2 does not see any of the files on the HD?
i cant answer your question, but both those versions of SMS you mention are quite old. the latest is 1.9, released on christmas, and the one before that, 1.8 is available as a CD image download. (with 1.9 coming soon)

thanks for the tip. I tried v 8 and 9 today and still the same results. I realized that the HD was set to cable select, but i changed it over to master and it still give me the same problem.
I still don't understand why. It is being recognized in windows as FAT 32 fine, but just not on the PS2
