...ntfs...
you need to format your drive in fat32
If you are using Windows XP it will not let you format the drive as FAT32 in the windows "Disk Management" Program.
Instead you can use the freeware 'Swissknife' utility from:
http://www.compuapps.com/download/Sw...swissknife.htm
Rightclick the drive, Format; fat32 from the dropdown list.
And when i'm do the same with my USB pen ( 64 mb FAT32 ) it also dons't work, SMS stops and i have to restart my PS2
This sounds like a different problem toAnd when I do the same with my USB pen ( 64 mb FAT32 ) it also doesn't work, SMS stops and i have to restart my PS2
Are you using the latest version of SMS (currently 2.0 Rev 1)? I think the 2.0 series has fixed a lot of USB compatibility problems. When in connect my external HD ( 200 gb NTFS ) with SMS, and open the map ( mass:\ ) i cant see any files.
If you are using SMS 2.0 then try re-formatting the thumb drive as FAT (NOT FAT32) and see if it works
Does SMS stop when you view the files or when you try to open one?
SMS stop when i try to view the files
In fact another 'knife' is available, though not perhaps in so generic a form as to be likened to a real 'Swiss Knife'. But this one is supplied with other USB driven/driving software for the PS2, which is a big plus.
What you need is the program ul_format.exe which is part of the tool suite for USBAdvance/USBExtreme. This can format large HDD drives to FAT32, while connected by USB to your PC. I also use a USB-connected 200GB drive for my own PS2, and that was formatted this way, so it should work just as well for others.
