Ethernet 10 mbit vs USB 1.1
Ethernet 10 mbit vs USB 1.1 –
I know that the ps2 has a half duplex 10 Mbit per second ethernet connection which i calculated as this 10Mbit/8= 1.25 Mbytes per second * 1024 = 1280 KBytes per second which is the theoreticaly maximum speed for the PS2, incredibly you managed to get almost 1600 KBytes per second in your latest updates to make MPEG 2 work properly, now my question is this:
I can play divx/xvid files with no problem from USB but cannot play MPEG2 without stalling for lack of data throughoutput of the USB 1.1 , is there anyway to hack the USB also to get more throughoutput from it as in ethernet? thank you very much.
ps2-networkadapter and the slim-ps2 has a 100mbit interface and no its no way to hack an usb1.1 interface for more speed...
get an 100mbit switch/hub whatever and/or upgrade ur pc with a 100mbit pci-card, both costs less than 15$
why is the ps2's network speed so bad ? 1.6MBps on a theoritical max of 12MBps..
The XBOX doesn 9-10MBps.. ??? @_@
XBOX uses 802.3u 100BASE-TX Ethernet adapter, so it has the max speed of

Is any hack to get it to the full speed? 12 mb/sec?
