I have burnt some avis to a DVD-RW in hoep that it would play on the SMS media player, i keep getting a message down the bottom saying, illegeal media.
I have a chipped console, i am wondering if there is any way to get this working??
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Did you try this kind of media in game backups, did it work?
I have no problem using dvd-rw/dvd+rw. (v7 ps2)
Hi, no havn't tried, but i used the method desribed on the main site, disguising the disc as a DVD video disc. This solved my problem! I have version 9 PS2
that is unusual, because usually that method doesnt work with chipped consoles, and a plain ol' nero burned data disc works fine.
If it works with an unmodded console, there's absolutely no reason why it shouldn't work with a modded console, unless you have a really bad modchip.
The fake DVD-Video trick may or may not work on your modchip, depending on how the autodetect code works (if it is present).
Yeah works great, i have a DUO3 chip
I have the same problem with jordyfrog. I have a modded and exploited ps2(30004R).
I have some avi's burnt on dvd+r discs (plain data discs).
When I insert the disc most of the times I get the message "illegal disk" at the bottom of the sms screen..
I don't have any problem at all playing backup games using the same type of media (taiyo-yuden ceramic).
Any ideas on how this could be fixed (other than the fake dvd-video..)?
I'd really appreciate any help as this is a very disturbing problem!
The F point –
Just to remind you guys, some modchips require a pin to be soldered to make the ps2 able to read dvd-rw media.
In the matrix infinity mod, you have to solder the "F" point. Otherwise it's a no-go.
Check your modchip manufacturer page, to see if there's any point that have to be soldered.
