Does anyone know of any good or great or excellent file conversion programs that allows you to convert mkv files to dvix or xvid? so far I tried River Past Video Cleaner Pro but it doesn't seem to work to well. It doesn't convert the audio and the video plays too fast in sms1.6(rev5). I have the mkv codec installed as well as dvix, xvid, ac3 sound codec and some other stuff.

I reccomend River Past Video Cleaner, then follow this tutorial: http://www.riverpast.com/en/support/...t/mkv/divx.php

i dont know why you are having trouble, i use it now and again and it works fine :S

    you could try http://www.planetdvb.net/staxrip/

Only used it a few times but it seemed to work well!!

StaxRip is a good program but u can always do it manualy if u prefer:
    1) Use MKVExtract (GUI if u prefer) to extract the contents u want from the MKV file
    2) If u need to reencode/convert the sound file do it now
    3) Open VirtualDub(Mod), open the Avi u extracted from the MKV file (if the movie file was not extracted as AVI u might need to convert it)
    4) Set it to Full Processing mode and add the Sound file to the Streams List
    5) Save As... with the proper codec

    That's all

PS: If ur movie was already encoded with DivX/XviD codec u can set VirtualDub to Direct Stream Copy instead of Full Processing mode and just use to mix the video and saound files together.

ogm uses ogg as the audio stream. but its not supported. convert it to MP3 when you convert your video... as for other stuff, like MKV, it can be extracted to separate video/audio components... the video is usually already in DivX or Xvid format, and you shouldn't really need full processing mode for that.
