Hey everyone i put together a set tools, batch files and virtualdubmod scripts to convert without re-encoding the video AVI, MKV, OGM type container files, with WAV,MP3,OGG, and AAC audio, it only supports text subtitles though.
Nice and bad thing about it is it doesn't re-encode video at all which can be a lot faster than re-encoding the whole file like some converters do.
if interested you can download from:tinyurl.com/22byrf/Container2AVI.rar
the reason i'm not attaching it to the post is because the file is 5MB in size and i don't think you can attach a file that large
let me know if you have any issues with downloading this or if there is an issue with anything in this package as this is the first time i've released anything onto the net
from the readme:
1-extract all files/folders to your "C" drive/partition
2-COPY all mkv, ogm, or avi files to Container2AVI Converted
3-run rename batch to remove extension of original file from final conversion if wanted
4-Drag and Drop all files onto shortcut to convert
a few notes:
all original files will be deleted after being processed so make sure you have a backup
you have been warned
all programs are the property of original authors, i claim no ownership of said programs
i've tried to make sure all docs are included, but may have missed some
the idea came from the author of the original OGM2AVI-i just tried to take this to next step to help the ps2 scene
only thing i claim ownership of is the batch files and virtualdubmod scripts
i don't know if they exist or not but any video file with different audio types in it (ie mp3 and ogm for example), will not work, you'll end up with 1 of the audio tracks being a 0 time track which may cause issues for SMS.
anyway this set of tools have been helpful in making some files that would not be playable in SMS playable, so i hope it is useful to someone else, if you have any problems running this, i might be able to help, but don't expect much as i'm not going to make this a full time thing, nor am i planning any updates (although i do have some ideas if i can get them worked out)

Really great work, thank you!
sorry everyone- found a couple of bugs in it- (stupid me forgot to remove all my pauses and remarks), also found a new code id for a audio codec that is supported so added it in-untested as of now- have started a test on as i'm righting this. so if you already downloaded the package you may want to re-download to make sure you have the newest one
edit: found another bug, i was trying to add support for video w/ multiple types of audio tracks in the same video file and it didn't work out to well . anyway link has newest version
edit2: found even more bugs so if you downloaded this after the last edit please redownload as the subtitles were not getting saved. had tried to add one feature to the subtitle part and did not work, and i forgot, now it is working so enjoy

Well i hope this works cause all my Avi files work just fine but the MKV and OGM dont :/
Thanks a bunch for your hard work and all the work i dont need to do
I just got tired of converting them manually, that's whay it may not have the codec ids for all the supported types, but as i find more that are in use i can add them in.
