The format of the SMS.smb file has slightly changed, so you probably just need to update your SMS.smb to make it work again. Here's what it has to look like:
    Code:
    IP address of PC
    name of PC
    name of PS2
    username
    password
name of this share (will be displayed in SMS)
    for example:
    Code:
    192.168.0.10
    mypc
    myPS2
    myname
    mypass
    mySambaShare
I guess you're only missing the last line, so add it and you'll be fine.

User and pass are optional, so if you made your share puplic you don't need user/pass, but you need those two lines in the SMS.smb file (i.e. blank lines if no user/pass is required).
Where is your SMS.smb located? It has to be in the SMS folder on your mem card and remember that the name is essential (upper case SMS, lower case smb).
You can also try to run SMS off the mem card to see if that makes any difference.
Perhaps you can post your SMS.smb here (quote or code), so I can take a look and make corrections if necessary. (change IP and leave user/pass blank for security reasons)

    read above post.

it is exactly where it is suppose to be,as it is suppose to be.

I just tested your file here and came to one conclusion. The PC name is too long, try to configure a shorter name and it should work. I shortened it to 12 characters and now I can change the protocol in SMS.
I hope this helps to solve your network problem.

But it's strange that you can't run SMS from MC. Maybe deleting the config or even the whole SMS folder can cure that problem.

Nope, only what I said above.
If you can post your SMS.smb here, I'll take a look at it and try to figure it out.
