Okay I burnt the SMS CD Image onto a standard CD. It boots fine with my Messiah 2 mod-chip...I then swap in the CD that contains the file American.Dreamz[2006]DvDrip[Eng]-aXXo.avi I select this file to run it, and it instantly goes to a black screen, any ideas whats going on? I've left it sitting there for quite awhile, and no action, any help would be great, thanks.

if you have a HDD, try copying it to that (SMS can do that but not sure that the button or menu for it is).

if it still doesnt work, do as others have, and take a screenshot of GSpot displaying all of the info about the AVI file, and post it here... its probably just encoded using some format that is not recognised by SMS. in any case, people here should be able to point that out if it is the case...

the codecs supported are Xvid and divx, with either MP3 or AC3 audio...

another thing you could try if the codecs seem okay is getting VirtualDub, opening your AVI, and then putting video and audio both on 'direct stream copy' then file > save as AVI, and save it to a new file. this will cause virtual dub to rip the AVI's audio and video streams apart and put them back together, without changing them. This will usually fix any problem with the AVI format itself.

gSpot is a little app (freeware) which can give u some detailed info about a movie's encoding. Try googling for it, u'll find it
