[QUOTE=user112;344366]Nope, but I thought that all NTSC TV's support PAL too. I'll look for some quick fix though.
NOT ON YOUR LIFE. I don't think you can get a tv that supports pal in the US at all, I have personally never seen one. Since NTSC is a better system (well, it has a faster framerate and higher resolution, anyway) lots of folks who are in pal countries buy NTSC DVD players and such, and lots of pal tv's are dual mode, but if you are already on the NTSC system, why would you ever want or need anything pal? Funny, "VCD" was China's answer to video disc player "on the cheap", they werent thrilled with the DVD format early on, it was just too espensive for them to consider practical, the Chinese came up with the VCD format, but thats another story. Anyway, really expensive, high end DVD players made in the US and Japan also almost never support VCD. For that, you a cheap, Chinese DVD player, the kind you find at Walmart. That confuses people to no end, you'd think the really expensive, top line models would have more features, but not that particular feature, they didn't think that anybody would bother with vcd, here, why would they when everybody can burn dvds?
I worked on a few PAL consoles, back in the day when I lived in Hawaii, mods for Pacific neighbors for whom finding installers was difficult, in some countries it's illegal to mod your machine, and I only got those because I COULD work on a pal machine, and I could only work on a pal machine because my old mayflash vga adaptor and crt monitor werent picky about input color system. That was the only way I could come up with to view anything pal. A client from, and whos work took him back and fourth from New Zealand came to me for a premod he really didnt want to have to buy, but juggling systems was a huge pain, and he couldnt get a pal tv here. I chipped his pal machine, and wired the old force color mode mod to a switch for him, instead, and he was beside himself with joy. And it saved him lots of money and suitcase space.
I'm having that b/w and rolling backwards like it's stuck in pal mode sensation, too (if I were drinking, that would make me blow chunks, for sure), but I havent read nearly enough to start posting dumb questions, I'll read on and see.
