    1. I have a Sony Tube TV, and when I press on the '1' button on my TV remote (Yes, I do mean the TV remote, and not my PS2 remote),
SMS behaves as if I pressed 'Start' on the PS2 controler.
I tried pressing '1' on my TV remote while playing and pausing DVD movies
using the PS2 internal player, and I don't get any response from
the PS2 (as one can expect it to be).

    2. When I press a button on my ps2 remote (original Sony Remote control), SMS reacts good for a few times, then the specific key stop responding for a few seconds or forever.
For example: While in file browser mode, I pressed the down arrow on the remote 2-3 times, and the down arrow stopped working.

My configuration: V7 ps2 (PS2 model without built-in IR sens) + DMS3 + original Sony Remote control & IR sensor.

    Thank you very much!

Afraid I can't help with your problems rami1 as I'm having enough of my own...

I have a V3 (i.e. no built-in IR) and an official Sony remote with IR reciever module, with the 2.10 drivers installed to MC. However, the remote has no effect within SMS (1.7 Rev5) beyond the standard "X", "O" etc buttons. It works fine in Sony's DVD player.

I assume I need to put RMMAN.IRX in mc0:/SMS/ but where can I get that file from? Couldn't find it on the 2.10 driver CD before or after installation to MC..

    Cheers,
    Fozz.

Cheers for that, suprised I didn't find it in the first place. For anyone wondering, what it boils down to is this (I think)... If your PS2 dosen't have an inbuilt IR reciever you need to extract the file RMMAN from the BIOS of a PS2 which does, rename it RMMAN.IRX and put it in mc0:/SMS/. In order to extract RMMAN from the BIOS you'll need a cli app called ROMDIR.EXE.

Well, that's what I gathered from the thread Jones23 linkied to anyway. Followed that through and still got nothing. Ho hum, think I'll go back to Rev. 4 while waiting for Rev. 6...

for those who needs rmman =<v7, pm or email me...4k wont hurt
as for code sony uses the same for dvd players / TVs so in some particular cases could interfere, anyway note that "numbers" are not defined as SMS functional yet...so from programmable/3rd party remotes different behavior could be observed...so take it as is for the moment, it is the first HB that allows remote control without severe conflicts, then when EEUG return from vacation other "addons" could be taking in consideration, or if someone wants to try...the code is available
    Best Regards, Mr. Worm~~

Well, I copied v9 RMMAN.IRX to SMS folder, but did not noticed any change.

    What about RMMAN2? In V9 Bios ROM1, I found RMMAN and RMMAN2.
Should I copy RMMAN2 also? Should I use RMMAN2 instead of RMMAN?

for now you can use v1.7rev4 until the remote issues are solved and the restriction of official $ony hardware function is fixed. there isn?t much of a difference besides the $ony remote addition from rev4 to rev5. it could be worst (official $ony hard drive support only, or ata autopatched required). I'm glad EEUG is keeping sms alive and in time these issues will probably be solved, this is only the first release with official remote support.
