Will a 5v Romeo mod put STRESS on the laser when reading official, pressed games?
Will a 5v Romeo mod put STRESS on the laser when reading official, pressed games? –

Initially I was only going to be gaming from my HDD and not play ANY games from discs, but I'm getting Subsistence next month and now I'm worried as to whether my laser will work too hard because 5v isn't enough for pressed media. I'm on a V9 console, by the way. So basically, I think I'm better off playing the REAL online disc rather than a backup..but I dunno because my laser is reading at 5v..is it going to overwork itself? It seems like you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. Should I just take the Romeo mod off or will it be okay?

well i guess you have installed the romeo mod because you mesured lov resistance over one of your coils so your laser is already bad, but applying Romeomod only helps your laser. it dosent make your laser read harder it just limits the amount of voltage that your laser recives to protect it from stressing out. i have made meny with a bad laser and fixed them with the romeo mod and so have meny other installers without any problems so i am positiv that your consol will be just fine.

not the romeo mod... its for low resistance coils only. if you mesure coils at around 5 ohm then there is no reson to do a romeo mod but if one of your laser coils is lower... lets say 2 ohm then it is important to apply the rome mod or ells your LA chip and maybe your laser will burn.
