What would you do, In my situation?
My original Laser in my V7 PS2 was failing, so I bought another from an Ebay seller. After a 100ohm tweak on the cd pot, and a change of eeprom with LensChanger, everything was 100% perfect. All my media was booting and loading like a champ. That was for 3 days. I came back to it after about a month of inactivity and the laser was totally dead. It wouldn't load cd-media at all, and struggled about 3:1 booting of Dvd media. I couldn't fix it, so I sent it back to the seller on Ebay hoping for some help.
He says that replacement is not an option. I will either have to buy a another laser for 30$ (Original Price was around $50) or wait for him to test the laser. He hasn't been able to test the laser yet so I don't have any information on how it performs for him.
What should I do? Ideally I would like him to test the Laser, it be fine, and the problem be a chip on my PS2 I could replace. If the laser is indeed shot, I think I would be insane to buy another laser, especially from that same manufacturer and for $30.
What are my alternative? Buy a PS2Two? I would lose my Hard Drive in my V7 which I really do like.
Try again at another V7 PS2 Laser from another seller?
What would you do? Thx
