Im just curious, whats your prefered temprature while doing PS2 jobs ?

I just got a solder station and im just curious what settings suits you best.
Also remember to post if its Celcius or Fahrenheit temprature you are talking about.

I did one ps2 the other day with 450 C.. I know thats extreme much, but the tip was ****ed so i had to. All worked afterwards.

    Whats good, 250c, 300c ?

    Thanks

I use a Metcal Sp200 station with sp625a tip which I think runs at around 450-600c, done over 100 slims with it, no returns. I must say that the Metcal is definately the best station I have used.

I use a Goot CXR-30/13watt fixed temp iron @ 450C, seems to be about the perfect temp for fine work with a small 0.2mm tip.

I primarily use 350c when I can take my time, but if I'm out doing solder work I just drag along my butane soldering iron that I can get from around 380c up to a bit over 500c. Especialy more valueble when you want to get going in under 20 seconds. Only problem is the various tips I use cost a damn arm & a leg, but they last.
