I think that they meant switching off the console by cutting the mains without using the power switch on the Playstation 2 console.

It's got the best laser and optical drive hardware, in general. There was debate on this sometime ago, and it was agreed that anything above SCPH-79000 is crap, and so is anything below the SCPH-75000 series.
