OK this is a weird issue for me that i haven't been able to find any answers on.
some how the disc tray got jammed in my PS2 part way when i went to eject it so i hit the eject but a few more time to move the tray in a out the little it would go while slightly pushing and pulling on it to try to get if free. on one of the eject cycles the tray complete jammed and by the time i got it powered off the motors had been running stalled for 15sec .
once i got the drive apart and found what caused the jammed i put it back together and tested it before fully closing the case. the issue is that it will eject perfectly in and out on command with out a disc in the drive. and when there is a disc it read and plays it fine.
the issue is that when i hit the eject button while the disc is spinning instead of the motor stopping the disc and ejecting right away it just spin freely until it losses it's momentum then the tray will eject. what i am wondering is by the motors being stalled for 15 sec cause a fuse to blow or did i damage one of the drive control chips and if so what chip or fuse(s) did i damage.
and for those who might ask i just replaced the LA6508 and laser coil 4 months ago from a failure and i do have the romeo 5v mod going to the LA6508 chip. i've had no issue since then with it until now with this tray jamming due to some debris in the mechanism.
