v7 "click" –
05-01-2006,04:46 PM
I've got a modchip soldered into my PS2. Everything had been working fine for a few days.
Suddenly, having done nothing to provoke this, I noticed the following. In anticipation of evryone saying, "What exactly did you do?" I'll outline it step by step.
1. Turn on PS2 and opened tray
2. Inserted original PS2 title and closed tray
3. Clicked reset
4. Main splash screen with little cubes and "Sony Computer... blah blah blah" comes up.
5. Disc is spinning, but after a few seconds (maybe 5) there's a soft click from the disc tray and it goes to the red screen indicating that my original PS2 title is not a recognized PSX or PS2 disc.
Here's the funny part. When I boot my chip in PSX mode, the PS2 game loads perfectly. Is it just me or does this sound like a modchip wiring problem?
Any suggestions, please? I'm going to the shop that installed my chip tomorrow but I want some suggestions in the event that they try to give me the runaround.
Anyone know any repair places in New York?
