V15 with Matrix green dot

Just installed a Matrix Green dot chip in a V15 PS2. Powers on but DVD eye is grinding and vibrating. Screen does not come up. Unplug the gamepad, and the ps2 power light will light green and there is no grinding noise. Anyone had this problem and have a fix? I am going to triple check my wires.

My problem has changed. I now make it to the PS2 browser, but I still am having trouble with my drive. I disconencted the ribbon to the eye when I installed the chip. I suspect this to be the problem. Is there a drive reset or sopmething?

check for shorts. if all else fails remove the mod and see if the ps2 still works.
