I need a little guidance for someone a little more experienced in PS2 modding than me. Installed a MI Green Dot in my v14 PS2 and everything seemed to work properly...except the console wouldn't load any type of media. Took off the cover to see what was going on and the disk would spin a little to find the TOC, the laser would light up and move up and down, but would never load anything. Removed all traces of the modchip and solder from all points and still ended up with the same issue when I put PS2 back together. Could one of my ribbon cables be damaged and I'm just not seeing it or is my laser just fried. Help!

Solved my own problem but posting what happened for any other newbies with similar issues.

Found two pins on the ribbon cable for the spindle motor that were damaged. Majority of connector was still intact, damage was confined to bottom 1/8 inch of connector so just cut off damaged part until I had a flat edge will all good pins. Plugged everything back up and drive worked like a charm.
