Hello. I have tried to connect my ps2 to monitor Dell u2311h, but I have some troubles with it. I have ps2 fat SCPH-39008 with FMCB 1.8b and PS3-to-VGA cable Amazon.com: Wii/PS3 VGA HDTV AV Cable: Video Games . I have tried a couple of homebrews (XPloder HDTV Player and GMS), but none of them worked on monitor (but both of them on TV).

Now I have no idea what to do with it. Hope somebody will help me to solve it.

    Thanks.

If it's made for separate sync, it must have some LM1881-like chip that separates the SoG. Unlikely.
Seems that the monitor supports SoG, so that cable should work. Maybe it got broken?
I dont remember much anymore, little time since i've done these things, but maybe you need to set YPrPb from PS2 settings.
I'm installing FMCB in Finland. I'm installing modchips for PS2, Xbox360, Gamecube and Wii, in Finland. I live in Finland.

    Have you tried various modes?

I remember that my monitor only "liked" VGA modes like those used by my PC - anything over 85Hz wasn't supported, as well as those funny resolutions.

    Try the 640x480 @ 60Hz VGA mode.

SCPH-39006 with M-chip modchip, SCPH-10281 NA and refurb Seagate 80GB HDD

Change the setting for component video in the OSD for RGB. Without doing that it won't work.

It would work without changing that setting only if you're using GSMODE selector and set it for one of the VGA modes.

In fact the video mode is actually set in more than one place as you can setup the video output circuit separately to output RGB or YCbPr...
The Ps2 default behavior is when set to RGB and the GS is changed to HD mode it automatically changes from RGB + SYNC (you use Y from SVIDEO as sync on 15khz mode, like if it was a PS1) to the SoG mode and all composite/SD video outputs are disabled.

SoG uses only the three signal wires (R,G and B) and the grounding (GND) signal.
