Tray wont open - Swap disc method

Hi there people

Today, while I was swapping a game with my swap disc, I'm not fully sure but I guess I moved the white thing too much. Basicly, I put in the tool and move either left or right to lock/unlock, but I guess i've moved it too much to a side(right) and now either I cant find the thing with the special tool, or it gets locked and doesnt move.

I've unloaded all the ps2. I see the white pin is all the way to the right. I've tryed to unmount more the cd driver but it gets stuck on some little piece. Also, the driver that was suposed to come out/inside, is jammed.

When I turn it to power and click the button, the motor tries to put it out, but it doesnt allow to.

What can I do ?

You will have to take it apart and realign the 'Elevation arm' in the disc tray.

Can you give me a link to that ? I cant find one. The ones I saw, the CD drive slides in and out, mine is stuck inside :S

It may not be exactly your same issue, but you will be able to see your white Elevation arm and be able to unjam it.

Hmm I got it all unpacked.

The problem that I think it is, its because the laser system is down, while the white elevator arm thing is all to the right, which I recognize it should be left, I mean :

laser system down --> Ejected --> ARm to the left

and actually, its the oposite away.

Is there any video that helps to remove the top cover of the cd drive ? Where we put the cd ? because its jammed in mine, it doesnt slide

There is 4 small screws keeping the cd cover on the tray
then there are 2 small screws on the lower left side that hold the tray in place

Ok I fixed it, but now I got the slidding part out side, and when I try to put it inside, it jams on the spinning thing near the cd reader, and I cant put it more inside

How can I fix that ?

Your welcome, glad you got it sorted. I was busy earlier.

Sometimes, as I am sure you figured out, it takes a bit to figure out how the elavation arm, disc tray all work together.
