Hey

I was helping a friend with his ps2 when I found a problem I hadn't seen before. I'll explain it with pictures.

This figure shows the lence-deck in upright position. The cogwheel in the bottomleft has pulled the white stick to the left. Raising the lence-deck.

This figure is my problem. The playstation reverse the cogwheel lowering the lence-deck (as it should) to output the cd-tray. However, when the cogwheel tries to grab the white stick's cogs, it cant reach them, and makes a quite bad sound as it tries to get a grip of them.

Is this a known error? And is it easily fixed?
