I recently bought a ps2 slim v12 and plan on installing a dms4 modchip. I read that the v12's should also have a laser diode fix installed because of a factory defect by Sony. The problem is that the ps2 worked fine until I put in the neofix xiii. The ps2 won't read any type of media, it just says "there is no data." I was told to remove the neofix because it is crap. I did that and the ps2 still says "there is no data" even though the neofix isn't there. I left the solder from the neofix on the mobo, but that shouldn't matter because it isn't connected to anything anymore. If anyone has any suggestions please reply to this thread. Thank you.

Get all the solder off and flux if u used it.. Maybe it helps.
I got the "there is no data" once and that was a blown laser.
