Some problems reading copied DVD's with NEW KHS-400C laser
Some problems reading copied DVD's with NEW KHS-400C laser –

Hi, I just replaced a KHS-400B laser with a KHS-400C.
So far, I've tested ORIGINAL CD's and DVD's and they all run fine. However, when I boot burnt games, it has trouble reading it sometimes.
For example:
Dvd 1 has trouble loading with Swap Magic
Dvd 2 has trouble loading with Swap Magic
Dvd 3 has loads with Swap Magic
Try Dvd 1 again and it loads, slowly
Try Dvd 2 again and it loads, normally
Try Dvd 1 again and it loads, normally
Try Dvd 3 again and it doesn't load
Try Dvd 2 again and it loads, slowly
All these discs were read perfectly with my old KHS-400B before it died.
Anybody have any suggestions of what to adjust? Cog, Pots, The (tangent?) screw?
I don't want to mess with my pots since the guy that sold it to me said that it's already optimized. I tried the cog but haven't noticed any difference. The only thing that is left to try is the (tangent?) screw since the guy that sold it to me also recommended that I adjust that BUT I don't have that type of screwdriver.
In your opinions, what would be the most beneficial way?
Thanks

If it´s a version 5-10 then you must run Lenschanger and if you got a refurbed 400c good luck I´ll never got the refurbed lasers from D######O
to work.I´ve bought all my 400c from modzone.com cause they are brand new.

Nah, I got a v4 and my laser is a brand new 400c. Do I still have to run lenschanger?

Any other suggestion?
Should I try adjusting the Cog or the Pots if my burnt discs aren't be read correctly? If I were to adjust the cog, I should make it so the laser goes closer to the disc right? Can it also just be the media I'm using? (TDK 8x/16x DVD+R/-R & Memorex 4x DVD-R)

I´ll try to set my 400c with these values
DVD 950-1100 (the closer to 1100 is better if it´s reads copies)
CD 850-1000 (normally no problem with the factory value)

Do not set the 400C laser below 1400 ohms, the current through the laserdiode will go over 60 mA (if there is a read problem) and the laser diode has a very short remaining lifetime.
Settings for a new laser (rare now) is 1750 ohms DVD - CD 1400 ohm
Refurbished ones arrive with 1450 ohms(DVD) and quickly turned up to 1550 ohm by me.
Some refurbished lasers have replaced lens coils/diodes and are often poorly aligned.
Use the cogs to improve reading.
Received last week 5 lasers from China, 2 were ok, 3 had coils below 2 ohms !!!.
Crap!.

I´ll just measured my orginal 400c in an v9 and the DVD pot where 1124 Ohm?And that have worked for 2 years now.
So I´ll measured a brand new laser from Modzone and the DVD where 1087 Ohm´s
So do you think I´ll should turn them to 1750?
