    I think it will be impossible for anyone to help you in such a total vacuum of information.

    All you have told us is that the red led is lit for standby mode, which is also true of every fully working PS2.

    I assume that part of your problem could be that this console doesn't 'wake up' from standby mode when you press the normal power/reset button, but you didn't even confirm that much... Nor did you mention anything you have tried to do...

    Without more information a proper diagnosis is impossible.

    ya i saw this post yesterday and have no idea what he means if by the red light is on when you turn off your PS2 if so then it should be like that thats the way PS2s work but if he ment that the red light stays on when he pushes the power button who knows
