So I ripped the fan connector off
So I ripped the fan connector off –
I recently modded a v9 and after many trials and tribulations I got it working. The only problem is that right off the bat as I was trying to unplug the fan the connector ripped off the mobo. I have since lost this little connector. I intended on just soldering two small wires off the leads and reconnect them to the fan. This doesn't seem to be working.
The v9 has 4 prongs that connect to the board. It looks as though two of them aren't connected to anything and are either grounds or just pads to help mount the connector. The other two connectors I took to be the positive and negative leads. I soldered wires off of them and turned on the console and tested it with a volt meter. It won't read anything higher than .3 volts. Even after the console has been on a while and has heated up. The voltage still won't increase.
So I am wondering what could I have possibly messed up that is causing this to happen. And or what are some other possible places to connect the fan? That is, is there another 7v line on the board or the PSU somewhere?
