    Hello!

I know the v12 PS2 doesn't like DVD-R discs, etc and will more or less require a laser fix (i e the Comsoft Slimfix v4) if such discs are going to be used. Is this the case with the v14, 15 and/or 16 models, or do they feature better laser units (this is a question in itself, by the way) that won't burn out as easily?

I'm also wondering if HD Connect is compatible with a v14, 15 or 16 model.

    Thanks in advance!

its optional to do the fix on v14 and up, burn out issue have been fixed since v13. i own v14 and didnt install any fix for it and dont have any problem or what soever. the reason why my ps2 didnt have any problems is because of the burned disc that i used, their scratch free... thats only my opinion, but if ur worried about burnout issue, do the fix...

Only get the laser fix if you own a v12 slim ps2.

V12-V15 use 2 types of laser and they are mixed across v12-v15. the laser fix is designed to solve laser coil burn-out issue for v12 only not to make the v12 to read dvd-r. in fact, all versions of PS2 with a healty laser have no problem with dvd-r.
HD connect was designed for v12 only.
