(( lil note in teh topic tile by DIC i mean Death is Coming)

i was trying an idea out before i found out about Free McBoot ealier. to boot SwapMagic3 DVD edition's ELF file via mrbrown exploit. it worked half way then i found out about Free McBoot.

so after things were set i was putting together my ps2.. however ;-; i Nicked a part or i think punctured the ribbon cable that connects to the power strib as screwing in the one screw hole underneith the power buttons i heard a "pop" noise then i screamed the f word knowing what i just did. i punctured the cable..

but trying to turn it on my heart sank when teh lights wernt lighting up on the power/eject button but behold on my screen it is booting.

atm no led lights on and i cant Keep it off (aka it wont turn off by holding in the power button) but will by hitting the power switch in the back

should i replace it asap or it ok to use like this?

You'd be best to replace it since it could cause damage by screwing a fuse or possibly worse.

well, at least it hasn't blown a fuse yet. so that's a blessing. but first chance you see on a good deal on a new (or used) ribbon cable, go for it so you can straighten out your system.
