A customer brought me a v9 console that gives a red screen of death on about 60% of the originals it tries to load. I've given the laser a normal cleaning and regreased the rails, and all the other things but nothing seems to have increased it's boot rate. Is this the first sign of a ps2 dying from too many mech crashes and hence the reason for the romeo mod. Would romeo modding it now help save it or is already half toast (or 60% toast anyways) It has no mod, no sign of a mod and everything was still sealed when I got it. Not too dusty inside and looks like a well kept and barely used ps2. It sucks if thats the problem because it probally means the la chip is partly fried and the board is toast and/or the laser is partly fried and that needs to be replaced as well.
