dont know if its been posted or not but on the v12 when the sticker was on the back, it was possible to open without removing warranty sticker by opening like a book, sony must have realised this and moved the sticker to underneath covering one of the screws, when you remove the words void come through the sticker.

    Solution

with a blade (box cutter) start at one end and slowly slide the blade underneath sticker, this will lift sticker keeping it intact, you only need to go far enough to remove screw cover and screw.
remove screw and put sticker back down, mod your pstwo,
when finished do the same to put screw back in and wipe over sticker to put back down flat.
hope this is of help to someone
    cheers

I don't understand. If you're opening the system you're obviously not going to send it back. Why is it people find it legitimate to lie to others and say it's never been opened when you clearly have opened it? The only time I trust that it's new is when it's in a sealed retail box. And even then there's a good chance it's a factory refurb prettied up to look new.

nobody said anything about lying to anyone, what if you open your machine and after six months the machine stops working due to no fault of your own, you can now open, take out chip and return to store for a replacement. DUH

who am I telling its never been opened
I am talking about when you chip a sony, and its just for fun, you should see some of the reactions I get from customers when they say HTF did you put a chip in it, it still has the warranty intact.

this is for people who want to keep thier warranty sticky intact, not to rip people off, just because they want to.

But if you open it and send it back, you have lied to sony. Granted you may not see the harm in ripping off a multibillion dollar international company, but the harm is there. I'm not trying to start a pissing match or ruffle anyone's panties but it's illegal and just wrong to open something and send it back. I work for the largest newsprint company in the world as an authorized tech on their custom built imaging machinery. It's given me a little more respect for the corporate warranty and legal/financial matters associated with it.

and of course they havent ripped us off with thier crappy lasers, and thier constant court cases telling us what we can and cant do with our own ps2 that we have legally bought, I mean thats like buying a car and car company tells us we can only use thier original parts or we cant put mag wheels on it, we bought it we can do what we bloody well want with it. If it wasnt for half the people here inventing fixes for thier crappy design they would have a lot more ps2 coming back under warranty so I have no sympathy for sony whatsoever.

Do you want to remove the sticker without wrecking it? NO? then dont
but if someone does, this is how you do it, end of story
