V7 are the most stable of the fat systems.
SCPH-7501 PSX - Basic chip, hole in case
    V7 PS2 - Broken, needs DVD drive
V13 PSTwo - XCM Crystal Clear Case (is it?), XenoPS installed
Version Unknown PS2 - Broken controller port, slight damage to case, To Be Repaired and Resold when it arrives
    XBOX V1.4 - X2 4983 TSOP Flashed

I agree also. I've put mine through hell and the original board still works, its just that I butchered some parts of it learning how to install a modchip and correcting multiple mistakes on it. But if I take the chip off, it still works as good as the day I got it.

    i prefer v9/v10

newer version and quieter and built in IR.

only real benefit of v7 is a few less wires to mod

both also support HDD so its better than slim ps2s, but the size is a tradeoff

V7 support hard drive as well. V9 have LA problems.

    Stick with the V7.

LA problem can be fixed with simple romeo mod

v1-v8 sounds like a hairdryer when on.
