I burnt my laser diode by ajusting resistance, it reads CDs but not DVDs. The question is, where can I buy working PS2 laser diodes, and what tools are needed to replace a Diode. Also why are optical unit for ps2 slim so cheap, and if the diode on a PS2 slim works on a 400B, and if there are any alternative to original sony diodes, , thanks...

How can I check if it is really blown? With the lack of option, would a ps2 slim diode work with the 400B?
