PSX or Playstation 1 hand controllers work on the PS2 ?

hi team..... does anyone know if the Offical PSX or Playstation 1 hand controllers work on the PS2 ?........the purpose is to use it for Time Crisis 2 and 3 .... ie if you connect a Pad to Controller Port 1 .....u can stand on it and it will duck and hide in TC 2 and 3.......my problem is the PS2 pads Analogue sticks get in my way.......never used to with the original PSX PS1 pad (no analogue in early generation pads)

ps1 controlers work with most games but im my experance wven the analog ones dont work with burnout 3+4 or tekken 5
