PS2 V9 modded MI doesnt spin anymore, pls help

Hi, I modded a PS2 V9 for a friend of mine.
All went fine and applied the romeo mod.
It worked properly when I gave it to him, but after returning from vacation he told me it was broken.
I just looked and it doesn't spin a dvd at all, it's not even trying.
The matrix chip works however.
Could someone please point me in the right direction because i haven't got a clue where the problem could be at.

A) Could there be a loose wire?
B) Is the laser busted?
C) Maybe a fuse fried?

check loose wires/ribbons & fuses first, then check ba chip which i think controls the power to the spindle/tray motors

chck the PS13 and PS14 fuses on a motherboard

also check the L.A. i make the same problems some times...
