    Hi guys!
Im new around here and i have a problem.

    I have a PS2 version7 and a network adapter SCPH-10350 and HDAdvance 3.0
First i tried a Western digital HD 80GB and it didnt work.
Then i tried a seagate 120GB and it didnt work either.
And today i tried an Excelstor 80GB and it also didnt work.

The message i get i hardware error. Hdadvance could locate any HDD on your palystation. Make sure......etc

I have tried with all the jumpers settings and i even tried to format the hd with WINHIIP first but nothing.

Does anyone have any idea about whats going on?
Why these hd dont work? What kind of hd have to purchase to be sure that it will work.

Thank you very much for you time.
    Sakis

Are they fitting in on your adaptor correctly I know western digital hds dont fit unless you modify the adaptor. Ive heard seagate has issues with it to. I think the best hd brand for the ps2 is Maxtor, always fits in perfectly.
V4 MI w/500gb HD & custom HD fan
    V9 CC 2.0 w/300gb HD
    V4 DMS4 Pro w/250gb HD
    V3 CC 2.0
    V12 Modbo 745 /clear case
    V0 SCPH-10000 JAP w/ DMS3

I had a fitting issue with WD. I modified my adaptor in order to fit but it was recognized. Then i tried the seagate which it wasnt working either. I read about the seagate problem and i got an Excelstor.
I will try a Maxtor and i will let you know.....

Meanwhile if someone has an answer to my problem i will be glad to hear it.

    Once again thanks guys!

I've done a lot of hard drive upgrades and I have had two or three PS2's that would not take a HD no matter what. I tested all the fuses, they were fine, even took a working network adapter/hard drive from one of my working PS2's and put it in to these systems and it would not detect the hard drive. I would put it right back into my system and it would boot up so I know it wasn't the hardware. Checked power, fuses, traces, could never figure out the problem. Ended up giving them back to the customers trying to explain that I know what I'm doing but there system is jinxed somehow. Then they mutter how they are going to goto one of the other installers in the city.

So what seems to be the problem?
    PS2, Neework adaptor or HDAdvance3.0?
Should i try it to another PS2?

See if you can try putting your HD/Network Adapter/HD Advance in another PS2 and see if that works. Like I said, I've run into 2 or 3 PS2's that a HD wouldn't work in, no matter what. Also had 1 network adapter that wouldn't work in every PS2 I tried it in, but does work in my v4. I've had an XBox DVD drive that wouldn't read about 75% of the time in this guys system. Switched it with my drive and they both worked 100%. Sometimes things are picky.

I tried the network adapter to another ps2 same version as mine and it worked at once! Im freaking out!

Ok. Listen to what Sony Hellas told me.
Probably theres a hardware conflict, but they cannot repair it since Sony doesnt allow them to open the console. They told me to give them my console and get a new one for 90 Euros.

I have another question now. ARE THEY IDIOTS?
I think the correct answer is yes....

Well if that person isn't going to use a hard drive, than switch them. Like I said, I've had a few that wouldn't work with the hard drive. Fuses fine, everything seemed fine and I never did chase down the problem. Just swapped with another one and all was fine.
