Ps2 V14 no longer spins
Ps2 V14 no longer spins –
I've just chipped a brand new V14 (GH-037 i think) PS2 with H2O. Put it all back together and played NFS Most Wanted dvd+r for about half an hour, all fine.
Then the PS2 made a 'click' noise and the game froze. Wouldn't switch off from the power button, I had to pull the plug on it.
Now the spindle motor isn't spinning the discs, and sometimes there's no video/audio output when i switch it on, just a black screen. I've removed the chip and it makes no difference. Checked for shorts on the board but can't see any.
Which fuses should I check? Any other suggestions please?
usely fuse 13 if i remember right ...

i just had 3 different ps2 v12 and v13 for testing , RS2004 was bad on 2 of them , simptoms was clicking laser , motor keep driving the lens without stoping . tested bad RS2004 chip on a working ps2 , got video problems , black and white from time to time , and ofcource no reading.
Uasally when the lens blows you need to replace tracking and focus coil resistors and the lens to get it up and running again . As far as black screen the must be a short someware. Check over all points you soldered to.
