My Ps2 was working great but not playing backups so I took it apart to see what the problem was and I had a few bumps in the road.

    1. First I broke the "Fan clip plug" up on one side(the top side of the ps2 toward the reset and power button). There was two solder connections that lifted.
    A. Do these need to be connected and would this cause no power, no red light?

    2. I then plugged my xbox powercord in the ps2 instead of my ps2 powercord forgetting which was which. I checked the fuse on the powersupply and it is good.
    A. Could this have blown a fuse?
    B. If so how do I check motherboard fuses on a v4?

    3. My screwdriver was magnetized
    A. Could this cause a problem?

I put my PS2 backtogether and I get nothing, no red light, no nothi9ng!!!

    Any Ideals?

    Thanks

I just ripped the "Fan Plug off" and it looks like thats not my problem. The two pieces that broke away form the clip was just holding it in place. I will solder the two connections back on directly to the mboard.
