    Hi Friends,
I bought ps2 slim model 75004 and I am trying to play games through network crossover cable from my laptop hdd.
I insert cat5 crossover cable one end to ps2 and other one is to my hp 6735s notebook ethernet port, but unfortunately connection status on screen show cable unplugged!!!! I've seen the video from youtube to how to set IP's from both ends I exactly do the same procedures, but failed I am using OPL 0.8 version to boot up games but when I go to network games list in the menu of opl it show "Network Startup Failed: 203" and show nothing and sometimes its freeze. My main problem to somehow it shows plugged cable on my screen, everything else is not a big deal.

I've done everything to established proper connection I also replace my ethernet cable but still show unplugged.
My question is Where I am doing wrong???
I am quite frustrated because of this problem and I dont want to use external usb hdd because lack of games compatibility therefore I need to connect it through crossover cable.

You guys are my last hope I believe someone definately have solution for my problem.

    My comp IP: 192.168.0.2
    Submask: 255.255.255.0
    Deafult Gateway:192.168.0.1

    My PS2 Ip: 192.168.0.10
    Submask: 255.255.255.0
    Share folder name : PS2SMB
User: Guest (I put my computer user name as well)
Password: None (I also put my user a/c password as well but nothing happend)

Please please Help me out. Awaiting your replies.

    Thanks in advance

I found on google that There are difference between crossover cables and cat5 /6 cables.
I am actually using my internet ethernet cables. I think this is why it shows unplugged in status. I need to make crossover cable for that purpose.. I just wana confirm from you guys is this statement right????
    Thanks

If your PS2 is connected direct to PC and your adapter on PC can not do auto crossover then yes you need to buy or make a crossover cable
and if connected with this your setup should be like this

    PC
    192.168.0.1
    255.255.255.0
    PS2
    192.168.0.10
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.0.1

this works best because it allows PS2 to share more internet connection properly with windows

    V10 SCPH-50001 with Network adapter SCPH-10281 500 G HD
    PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

If you know how check your services on that laptop you may have server disabled and OPL need it to connect to it
