PS2 OPL SMB Slow Help!
PS2 OPL SMB Slow Help! –
I don't know if I'm posting this in the right forums. But I've been having a problem recently with fmv stuttering and slow loading times on Open PS2 Loader SMB. My little brother accidentally pulled off the plug of the PC while I was playing using OPL SMB, TWICE. After that im having heavy stuttering on fmv and very slow loading times on my PS2. If it helps also my PS2 version is SCPH-90006 (slim) and I was using crossover cable and playing Tales of the Abyss about 30 hours into the game. Cause I have read that Tales of the Abyss lags a lot on mid game. I've also tried re-installing free mcboot, re-sharing my folder, patching the game with USBUtil, and have tried both OPL v 0.8 and v0.9. I don't know if the source of the problem is hardware or software or if it will be repairable. I know I can use the USB function but I really like the SMB function, so if somebody can help me through this i would gladly appreciate it. Thank you. Oh and sorry for my English.
Yeah, I tried SMB recently too. It sucks for speed. The DVD drive is clearly faster as games don't stutter on FMV sequences. It would be awesome if a fix was made to increase speed. Even if it was slightly faster than the DVD drive, that would be awesome.
Luckily I have a PS2 phat and the internal hard drive is great for speed. Only thing I can suggest is running ESR but then you have to burn games with patches and wear out the laser in the PS2.
It's a shame really because the SMB is the easiest and most reliable way to game but it's speed ruins it completely.
