PS2 new laser Not playin dvds –

OK I got a SCPH-50001 model PS2 and It had an KHS-400R SF-HD7 Laser. I couldn't get it to play dvd games. So I bought a brand new KHS-400R SF-HD7 Laser. I put it in and it still won't play dvd games, but it will but up my pro action replay ps2 cd disc. Any Ideas???

My bad I posted it first and figured it was in the wrong spot so I made one here. Don't be so quick to assume I'm impatient cause your sorely mistake. Next time don't be so rude and assume and maybe ask Why I did that! I'm in no hurry I got a back-up until someone who knows what to do answers and I'm sure someone who does will not be as rude!

Your laser is missaligned.
Aligne the chassis "horizontally", the plastic surrounding is the reference, using the white wheel.
After that go to the black little screw and set it a quarter before the maximum tight, mark its position, then start moving no more than a quarter every time and testing a dvd.
It could take 15 minutes or 15 hours to you find the "point", be patient and methodic, always marking what you did.
Hope you understand my non-english.
+ > check your dvd is well recorded. Use a GOW2 DL copy to test the alignement or a GTA SA.
Look for info of how to measure laser and bobines whit a tester.

OK gonna try it again. one thing I forgot to note, it plays blue and black discs but not silver. When I put a silver in it just attempts to spin it 5 time and on the 6th it starts spinning but never reads it and eventually stops spining

That is because your modchip has a cold solder or missing a cable in video encoder, check BGHI, dont remember now witch one is relative to golden discs.
