PS2 has no power after modding
hi there ...1- check all your connection make sure they connect fully on the borad.
2-make sure the power supply working ? check the voltage of it ..
3-if you checked every thing in 1 and 2 and still nothing ,,,
try to disconnect the chip and see ,,,some times it could be faulty ...good luck and let me know
Thanks for your quick answer. The power supply is OK (8.83v).
I've tried to disconnect only the power to the modbo chip but it's still the same (no life). Should I only see results if I disconnect all the wires? Or should the PS2 already work when only disconnecting the modbo 3.3v and gnd?
Check the ps14 fuse. That may be blown or contact loosened by accidental soldering.
So I've completely disconnected the modbo chip and it's still the same.
I've checked the ps14 fuse and it's ok like all others. So I really don't know where I should look next.
Well the same thing was by me,the O and P were somehow together,so recheck your soldered pins, think that this should solve your problem ...
Thanks for the suggestion. I've took a very good look at P O N M W Q T U V R and it looks ok without any unwanted bridges. I'm slowly running out of options.
Check the connection to the power button, or check all the fuses, find little green resistor for power stendby.
The power/reset button ribbon cable is OK.
Fuses are ok. The little green resistor gives me 0.046 resistance and the voltage on one side is 2.5v and on the other 0v.

Try connecting the unit 1st on a different power supply/brick. If it doesn't work, you most probably shorted some IC chip in the board.
Look again and clean any traces of flux.
