PS2 Gone Crazy

Ive just chipped a ps2 v8 pal with modbo 2.1, when i first powered it on it looked OK, i put in a backup and didn't read after couple of times resetting the ps2 it went crazy. the ps2 ejected the CD really fast and i could hear something spinning really fast, and if you put the CD tray back in it pulls the CD tray really fast and then it start spinning like mad. I've tried a different ,Infinity Matrix but i had the same problem.

I was going to send it for repairs but i was hoping to have a go at repairing it first before i send it. i was wondering if anyone has had similar problems and if if anyone could give me an idea what the problem might be.

sounds like a solder splash on the bios

i did look around and i cleaned everthing but still didnt work..anything else that might cause this problem..btw it doest always spin like mad

how do you no the difrence between 7 and 8 coz i thought there were only 8's in japan
