01-13-2012,01:13 PM
Hi Guys, this my first post on psx scene with very big hope. I have ps2 fat and i m using opl 0.8 to boot ps2 games from hdd via usb. Games running fine but when I plug usb cable of my hdd enclosure into ps2 usb port the display on my tv show some wavy & noisy lines. this will only happen when I plugged usb cable into ps2 otherwise display is smooth and clear. What wrong with it? does any one experience such thing before? I really thankful if anybody have any solution for this problem as my usb games doesnt display clearly. I use my usb stick to play videos from it to check if any usb port have any hardware prob but its work perfectly with clear display it on occurs when I plugged my hdd to play games. Awaiting for quick reply. Thanks again.

most likely your enclosure is creating some type of noise throw the usb connection and interfering with the GS try using a surge suppressor if you have one on the USB HD

V10 SCPH-50001 with Network adapter SCPH-10281 500 G HD
PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

I need a simple solution ! now what is surge suppressor ?? I really dont get your point!! Should I go for mod chip option or USB is good for now. I dont have network card to use smb or mod chip thats why I choose opl.

something on the your usb HD is creating noise electric noise so when it is hooked to PS2 it puts static on screen I have had this happen before myself having to many electronic devices to close together or surges in electric lines
It could possible be something wrong with enclosure

First of all thanks bro for your prompt reply.
I understand what you say now but what you use for solution for this prob? and which is the best option as more compitable between HDloader, OPL (version??) or USB extreme???
I ask a person from IT dept in my office about noise prob he suggest me to replace the power cord of the enclosure as it look like made in china which is low in quality, so I m going to check if its work I also let other peoples to know.
