Ps2 does not display on tv
Ps2 does not display on tv –
Hi everybody !
I have a slim ps2 that was working well so just today when I connected it for playing, I powered it on and I constat that there is no image on tv.
So I don't know where can come the problem, I want you to help me to have it fix.
Thx in advance !
Wich cable and TV are you hooking your PS2. If you at least hear the sound of PS2 booting up it is probably a setting inside the ps2 menu there is 2 option for conponent and RGB cables. I suggest you to hook you ps2 using and ordinary composite cable on a CRT TV just to adjust that option properly.
Before it was working with the same cable, there is no sound, and when I try that cable with another ps2 it work perfectly. I think it can't be a matter of configuration, it can be a problem coming on the motherboard.
I need your help !
please if anybody can help. I am having the same problem the playstation2 was working but did not display on the tv screen and it does not bring out the sound.
Check the chip, and the soldering part of the chip (modbo, mars ...)
IF there isn't a problem on the RCA cable or the TV, then it's probably the Ps2 unit itself.
You probably have to reflow the CPU/GPU chip.
again recheck the solderind part ... resolder it and then power it up if it works the soldering part is ...
i have a mobo GH-026 with same problem i turn on all work fine but no video and no audio
i hapen during the o boot of ulelf try to chose opl but take black scrre and no mere bios
can be bios resolde
modeship cable 3.3v
or resistor bank in mobo
The solution I've found is pretty simple.
If your console don't has a modchip, pass directly to step 3.
1st step: Dissasemble your console, take the motherboard and check if your modchip is soldered correctly. With time, the wires can unsold from some tracks and short-circuit some of your motherboard's components. All the wires, coming from the modchip shall be soldered to the mainboard, if one or more have and end laying freely or are soldered bad, resolder it/them. If you don't know where each wire shall go, check out the diagrams. Just type your console version (you it's write on the motherboard, for example GH-072-42, GH-061-12, etc) and google it, writing "(your console model, for example GH-061-12) diagram". If all the wires are sodered good and they don't short-circuit the neighbour tracks/components/wires, or if after resoldering it still don't shows image on TV, go to step 2.
2st step: Unsold the 3V cable from your modchip. Check if the TV image is back. If it is, it means the modchip is defective and you need to replace it with another one (can be same model). If the screen is still black go to step 3.
3nd step: Check the fuses. You can find those on the back part of the motherboard and they're marked as: PS1, PS2, PS7, PS11, PS13 (You'll find a lot of components marked as R, C, you should verify just the ones that start with a PS) Example:
If there's a fuse that don't have electrical conductivity, just short-circuit it with a thin wire. Be sure you did it accurately. Now plug the PS2 to the TV and verify. If it'll show the image, then everything's ok and all you need is to replace the modchip. If not, Go to step 4.
4nd step: Go back to the motherboard, verify again the fuses and unsold completelly the modchip. Unsold the wires from the motherboard and check if the tin left from the solded wires don't short-circuit the tracks. Plug in and turn on the console, if there's still no image on TV, well, personnaly I just throw away to garbage such consoles. If you know another way to fix it, please share here!
If after you've done the steps 2-4 your console started to show the image on TV, then just replace the modchip.
