Like the above post says.......IF IT`S A REAL V13 NO FIX!
And when it is a SPU3170 also known as "Wide" the fix doesn´t work
The laser goes "pop" after awhile but it´s just to run the lenschanger program
and make it a PVR802/KHM430 after that and all probs are gone....
That the only laser that I have customers that have "burned out" not worn out..
in V13
Even if its old, it was an interesting read, specially if you have v12. ^^
so thanks for explanation.
So if a v13 does not need a fix, is it safe to assume that the successors also do not need any fix? I mean v14 up to v18 ?
500 INSTALLS DONEsorry for posting this up so bloody late, but for me....crappy soldering and bad modchip installs lead to laser burnout....also....fiddling with a brand new laser will lead to tragedy....so far, 220 slim ps2s (version 12 and 13) all modified with magic 5kx, matrix infinity and mars pro GM806 for the past 8 years and counting and all work beautifully with the summOne fix and all I just use is the 4.7k resistor...only a few of the magic 5kx systems I used the both resistors on the tracking and focusing.....and as the systems age...all I gotta do is just measure the components they now have and with some calculations, make up the reisitor's values. And boom....i'm in a gear right there.
and it doesn't matter if it is version 12 or 13....ALL...I repeat....ALL...version 12 and 13 needs the "fix"
MAD PROPS SUMMONE!!!!!
I'm curious if anyone ever discovered just what causes the crash. Loose connection on a modchip install, or is there more to it?
It's been explained many times over. You'll just need to search for it.
