Power Loss & More issues with V4 PS2 after modchip(DMS4SEPRO) install. Please Help.
Power Loss & More issues with V4 PS2 after modchip(DMS4SEPRO) install. Please Help. –
I've looked all over the internet for troubleshooting guides on the problems I have, but I've come up with nothing. My PS2 worked perfect(except of an occasion DRE) before my modchip install.
My main problem is a power loss/reseting problem I have been getting. What happens is I turn on my PS2, and it will just shut down on its own a lot. If I'm lucky, it will stay on for 5 minutes, and 90% of the time it stays on for less than 5 seconds. If I turn it on, starts up and you hear the fan speeds shoot up or slow down randomly. When it turns off on its own, the reset light will just flash green, and after a few seconds it might start up again on its own. If it hit the reset button after the power loss, just heard the laser start to move, and the powers off immediately. If I turn it on 1 time and it starts up, if I hit the reset button after that, I will almost always get the power loss again. Sometimes if I hold the eject button while I try to turn it on after a power loss, it will turn of for as long as I hold the eject button, then it will just power off when I let go.
I have checked all the fuses I know of and I can find on the motherboard and power supply, and I have checked for any damage to any components, and I have check for solder bridges. There is nothing I have found out the ordinary. I have taken out the modchip before, just to see if the modchip might be the problem, I still get the same problem. The modchip does work by the way, I have successfully loaded up one backup game(after a billion tries because of power loss), and I can use ToxicOS to play game off of my hard drive.
Another problem is I can't eject at all. The only thing the eject button responds to, is to turn on the console when it is on standby. I have tried a few things I have found in troubleshooting guides and nothing has worked.
Another problem is, my PS2 will NEVER read a disc until after I reset once. I turn it on the 1st time and the disc won't even start to spin, but if I hit reset, it will start spining and then it might work. The main problem with this for me, is because I have the power loss problem, if the hit the reset button, console always shuts down, and the reset light flashes green. I have only successfully been able to load up a game 1 time out many, many times I have tried.
If anyone can knows any possible reasons for these problems, maybe a possibly damaged chip on the motherboard or something, please help.
