Power Button Question –
My PS2 is V9 and I was wondering if I broke off my power button off my ps2 could I use my finger to press the green box where the power button is. (would it come on) My powerbutton is bent and now the case wont fit back on (i have a remote) but I want to have a backup plan.
you could use your finger to touch the green pad. i wouldn't advise to use this "back up" for long term use.
in my long years and many toyz, ive known power buttons to "disappear", stck open/close or what have you. my favourites are the ones that suddenly fly across the room just grazing your eye. or maybe this only happens to me.
i usually dig around for something that looks like i could smoothe-talk into a being a power button for the night.
if not, then i stick/glue a small silicon pad to some electrical tape. then just tape it over where the power button was. of course you want to make sure that the pad is securely in place and rests gently against the "green box". TA DA! instant fix-it.
you can get little silicone pads at home depot. ask any dork there where to find Furniture Protector Pads or whatever. for a few bux you can get a dozen or more, so if you screw up or lose one it's no biggie. i like to use them for almost anything, they're real easy to shape with razor or use a hair dryer to "melt" and mold.
anyways, it's an idea until you find a good replacement button.
