power button problem –
I had to buy a new flex cable to go from the power button into the motherboard but unfortunetly the clip that holds the cable in place on the motherboard broke off and disappeared into the ps2. Ive managed to get the cable in place and the power light comes on but when i press the power button or eject button nothing happens. Its pretty weird sinces theres obviously power going through the cable since the light does come on. Since the clip is missing im gonna use electrical tape to tape it down but right now (to get the light on) im just pressing it in using a pen lol.
Is it possible that the cable is connected to allow the power to feed the red LED but isnt connect properly to make the buttons work?
The cable looks fine in both the button side and the motherboard side and looks like its hitting all the contacts but still doesnt do anything when i press the button.
Anyone got any ideas?
